Manitoba Employment Standards
Manitoba Employment Standards: Your Minimum Rights
Our collective agreement provides you with excellent wages, benefits, and working conditions that go above and beyond provincial law.
However, every CUPE member should know their baseline rights under The Employment Standards Code of Manitoba. This legislation sets the absolute minimum floor for topics like:
- Minimum Wage
- Hours of Work and Overtime Pay
- General Holidays (Stat Holidays)
- Minimum Notice for Termination
- Statutory Leaves of Absence (e.g., Maternity, Parental, Bereavement)
Remember: Our Collective Agreement is your primary source of protection, but these standards apply to everyone in Manitoba. Know the floor, so you understand your ceiling!
